A lot of thought and consideration goes into choosing a home for sale. Some home purchasers will focus solely on price, while other homebuyers may concentrate on a specific location or neighborhood or architectural style.
A recent study was conducted to find out from home buyers what their top reason was for buying both new construction and existing homes and condos for sale. The results of the study revealed size and layout to be the top 2 determining factors when considering purchasing a particular home. 76 percent of home buyers considered home size as most important while 74 percent chose a home's layout/design. Number 3 on the list - 72 percent of home purchasers considered the community as most important. Purchasers of new construction homes named similar features with the addition of exterior look and quality of construction.
For first-time home buyers, price was the most important reason for purchasing a particular home. After price, these buyers considered neighborhoods that were in close proximity to work, family and friends.
Finally; not as important on the list, but a factor for several home buyers; specifically new construction buyers, were homes located in a certain school district. More about this story here..
