Former Trump International Hotel & Tower in Fort Lauderdale Under Contract
After several years of delay, a recent article in the South Florida Business Journal reported the 24-story Former Trump International Hotel & Tower is under contract to be sold to a new bulk purchaser. The oceanfront property was supposed to open in 2009 at the same time when newly built condo-hotels and Oceanfront condos for sale in Fort Lauderdale were at their peak.
Orignially designed as 298 units, the new owner, an entity called Conrad FLB Partnership, LLC plans to invest $100 million in renovations and restructure the property into 181 hotel rooms to be managed by Hilton's luxury brand, Conrad and feature 109 luxury condominiums offered up for sale. No information on pricing is available at this time.
The property had been vacant since 2009 amidst delays, lawsuites, etc. And once the name Trump was removed, more unit buyers filed suit. Trump had argued all along he was only lending his name to the project.
