Bees In Our Bonnet
When: SATURDAY AT 10 AM – 12:30 PMM
Where: Bonnet House Museum
“Bees in our Bonnet” at Bonnet House
This exciting class will cover topics ranging from little-known but fascinating facts about honey bees, and why they are so important as pollinators, and we will discuss why, instead of us being afraid of bees, they should be afraid of us. We will dispel myths and misconceptions about bees, talk about why honey bee populations are declining, the facts behind swarms and swarming, and what you can do to help bees.
This exciting class will cover topics ranging from little-known but fascinating facts about honey bees, and why they are so important as pollinators, and we will discuss why, instead of us being afraid of bees, they should be afraid of us. We will go behind the scenes of live bee removals and will discuss what is involved with being a beekeeper; in particular, if you’re afraid of bees, can you still become a beekeeper? We will have a short overview of Orchid Bees, followed by an introduction to the wonderful world of honey, including how and why bees make honey, why the honey industry is so controversial and filled with fraud, and what honey is best.
We will wrap up the event with a honey-tasting session. Raw wildflower honey will be available to buy after class, as well as Orchid Bee Feeders and Honey Bee Revival Kits for those poor, tired bees you see on the ground.
3rd Annual Downtown Hollywood Art Walk
When: SATURDAY AT 7 PM – 8 PM

Even if you answered yes, would you like a guided and curated artwalk experience by one of our communities most passionate & knowledgeable locals? Presenting an opportunity to meet and discuss with the talented artists that make our arts districts great?

Well we encourage you to join us during the 3rd Saturday night of the month every month for the Choose954 Guided Tour Of The Downtown Hollywood Artwalk @ 7PM! (Taking place shortly after the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project Walking Tour which begins at 6PM from the same location and ends at 6:45pm – there is a break in between).
A Broward County Native & Downtown Hollywood Resident, Choose954 Co-Founder Evan Snow will be leading a guided, curated tour of the artwalk he knows and loves intimately. These hour long tours takes attendees through some of our favorite galleries, restaurants, and highlights of the artwalk including the Artisan Market. We start this tour beginning on the corner of 20th Street & Harrison (in front of End To End Gallery at the Information Tent)!
Considered one of our favorite community events of the month, artwalks provide a unique opportunity to highlight local artists and galleries keeping their doors open late, with multiple live music offerings, opportunities to support local artisans & craftmakers displaying their handmade creations, activations & installations amongst other fun filled community building activities.
There’s even a FREE Magic Show at 10PM just after our 9PM tour by local Hollywood Legend Magic Jack.
The art walk has served as one of the best ways to bring people together in various cities over our shared passions of Art/Food/Music/Entertainment/Community, and we’re proud to have a thriving art walk taking place monthly in Downtown Hollywood Florida & The 954!

Friday Night Tennis Under The Stars
When: FRIDAY 7 PM – 9 PM
Where: Frank Veltri Tennis Center – Plantation
Tennis Under The Stars Every Friday Night Veltri Tennis Center 9101 NW. 2nd Street Plantation Central Park Plantation. Meet – Play – Compete Have Fun – Socialize With Other Tennis Players – 3.5 & above Players. We average between 28 – 40 players each week. Every Friday Night Social Tennis Mixed Doubles/ Round Robin. Warm up starting at 6:30pm Tennis is from 7:00pm – 9:30pm
For over 35 years, SportsMates has provided opportunities for singles and non singles in the South Florida area to meet for tennis events and social activities year around.
